Corporal Scott Kinnon offered a surprising disclosure to affordable Wedding Photographer in St Lucia, Bill Mortley just hours after his wedding in St Lucia.

“As of yet, I haven’t proposed!” laughed the 17-year veteran of the Royal Air Force, along with his wife, Claire. The pair had discussed marriage while Scott was on a four-month assignment and then “understood” it would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the St. Lucia property of one of Claire’s clients, and marry here.

That statement typifies the refreshingly close relationship Kinnon, 35, enjoys with his bride, also 35, a talented hairstylist, who has likewise practiced her craft for 17 years. To show her style for the ceremony, Claire wore her hair in a chignon, “held” in place by off-white and purple island blooms.

Their courtship eventually led them to the Capella Resort and Marina in Marigot Bay, where they celebrated with Claire’s parents in an intimate affair. “We chose the Marina at Capella because I didn’t want the beach. Everyone wants to marry on the shore, but to us, the Marina was perfect.”

The couple also made time to see the island, and Scott enjoyed time with William, Claire’s father. Prior to the wedding, the groom invited his father-in-law on a fishing excursion. The two nailed a marlin, but lost their half-hour struggle to the thrashing beast just as it was being hauled aboard. Neither seemed to mind.

Making preparations from afar were easy

Was it difficult to orchestrate a wedding abroad? Claire’s friends inquired often.

“It was stress-less,” the bride replied enthusiastically, thanks to Capella’s dedicated wedding-planners.

“We spoke to Theresa from England, and then met Emily once we arrived,” Claire said.

“Theresa and Emily took charge of everything; they performed flawlessly,” Claire adds. “I wouldn’t do it any differently.”

“Preparations were faultless. And we covered absolutely every last detail in an hour-long call a week before we left,” she recalled. “They asked questions like: What would you like on your cake? What color flowers would you like? How many flowers would you like?” Three purple orchids were thus placed at the base of the white two-layer cake, leaving the couple to agree: No aspect of the occasion was overlooked.

Claire and Scott, as youngsters

Curiously, while Scott and Claire did attend school together, their paths didn’t cross. Claire remembers Scott as tall and thin, and friendly with older students rather than his peers, while Scott recalled the young Claire from one of her mother’s photos: “I remember that girl – the one with the curly hair!” he exclaimed.

It was not until two years ago that they were reunited through friends, and their courtship ensued with a conversation over coffee at Scott’s flat until 2 AM.

The couple subsequently watched “Twilight” on DVD, and with the romantic movie series as a backdrop, they grew closer until they moved in together eight weeks later. The movie score accompanied Claire down the aisle with her father.

Posing for the photographer

Scott was quick to point out that Claire’s tender relationship with his 10-year-old daughter convinced him to wed. “They love each other so much,” he reflected.

An all-day event

Scott and Claire posed for photos throughout the day with affordable wedding photographer in St Lucia Bill Mortley, and at sunset on the bay, where each successive photo background was colored differently by the setting sun.
