FAQ - How do I book a wedding with you? I require a 50% non-refundable retainer to exclusively reserve your date on my calendar. Your retainer will apply to your account balance. The remaining balance is due at least one week before the wedding date. FAQ - How do you design our album? 1. You choose all the pictures And remember, I’ve already helped you! - when you get your proofs posted online, the first category called “Highlights” are my favorite 100+ pictures of the day- this is a great place to start!
So the next question you’ll probably have is - How many pictures do we need to pick? - another tough question! I like the “less is more” rule to designing an album page. My favorite designs are spreads that have 3-4 pictures, where on one page you have one large feature picture and on the other page you have a couple of details or supporting pictures that tell the “story.” So, if you need a number to work for, then I suggest start at 2.5 pictures per page ( so for a 20 sided album - aim for 50 pictures) I also tell everyone that you can have as many pictures in your album as you want (I do not price the albums by the picture count), so here is another rule- the more pictures you put in your album the smaller the images will be or the more they will have to overlap one another, unless you increase the number of sides in the album or the dimensions of the album (for example, going from a 9X9 to 12X12 album). If you haven’t already done so, the next step is to pick an album manufacturer (some people put their choice on the photography contract, and are all set with their decision - but you can change styles at any time). Currently, I offer Queensberry, Cypress and Graphistudio albums - take a few minutes to review the relevant websites to better understand what your album company offers in terms of styles or options. Once, we have the pictures to use and the style of album you desire, it is time for me to design. I use an application called Photojunction. For any photographers reading my blog out there, this is a great and simple to use program. The biggest reason I use Photojunction is that the software has the album supplier specifications built into the program. That means I do not have to take time to look up, figure out and set up all the various album specs (and believe me, no two manufacturers are the same!). Also, my clients always have the option of switching styles or manufacturer, and using Photojunction makes it easy for me to change everything. Photojunction also recently updated their software to the “Remix” version, for more info regarding Photojuction, visit their site at http://www.photojunction.com. Once I have a design finished, I will send you a link to a slideshow presentation and send you a PDF layout to review. At any stage, you are free to make as many changes as you would like (add, subtract and switch photographs), there is no additional fees to make changes- just send me an e-mail with your revisions. As professional wedding photographers we often hear the same questions asked on a regular basis. With this in mind I have compiled a list of questions that hopefully will help couples choose the photographer that they feel is right for them. I realise that many wedding publications have published lists of such questions, but hopefully my experience and perspective as a wedding and portrait photographer will help you along the road to choosing the wedding photographer that’s right for you. You should also ask to view a complete album from one single wedding that the studio has produced (not a compilation of images from various weddings) and also ask the photographer to provide a list of references from previous clients. Are you a full time professional photographer? - I am. Do you have more than one camera body? (in case of equipment malfunction) - I do. Do you have more than one lens? (see above) - I use several lenses to cover a wedding. Do you offer both contemporary (reportage) and traditional styles of photography? - I offer both. Are you willing to travel? - I would travel anywhere to cover a wedding. Do you offer an online proofing facility where friends and family are able to view and purchase prints? - I presently use Pictage. Could you provide a more bespoke photography package tailored to our requirements? - I am quite willing to do so. Do you provide the digital files on CD/DVD in certain packages? - I do. Do you include an album in all of your packages if required? - Yes Do you shoot only digital? - Yes Do you offer a professional digital retouching and airbrushing service? - I do. Are you fully insured? - I am. Can you confirm that you won’t be covering another wedding or event on the same day as our wedding? - I can. I only accept one wedding per day. When shooting digitally do you shoot in digital RAW format? (This format offers the best quality digital capture available ) - I shoot every wedding in RAW format. If you do shoot in RAW format are you experienced and proficient in processing these type of files? - I am. I use Lightroom 3 to process the files before going into Photoshop. Would you be able to offer a free demonstration on your RAW processing and digital airbrushing prior to us booking you? - I would be.
Take as much time as you need when reviewing your album design, I want you to be 100% happy with the content and flow of the album. Once you sign off on the final design, it will take about 6 weeks to receive your wedding album. St. Lucia Wedding Photography Services |
