Your Unique Wedding Day

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Weddings aren’t always held in religious buildings, they can occur almost anywhere. Some people get married while standing on a beach and others in decorative buildings overlooking gardens. The ceremony is totally determined by the wishes of the bride and groom. The only obligations they must meet are the legal processes that are required by the Country or State where they plan to marry.

Many couples really aim to plan a unique wedding day by holding the ceremony in a special location. This is something known as a destination wedding and is actually a huge trend in the wedding industry, especially in the Caribbean. Not only are destination wedding ceremonies unusual, the entire event, from the days leading up to the wedding to the days afterward, is incredibly memorable as well.

One way to enjoy a destination wedding is to work with a resort or hotel that specializes in them. Interestingly, there are many options all around the world for someone who wants to be married in an unusual way. A couple could get married in a Scottish castle, luxury resort in Hawaii, or on the sands of a beach in St. Lucia – it just takes a bit of planning and organization.

The great thing about a destination wedding is that all of the guests get to be part of the unique experience as well. Consider the couple getting married in the Caribbean, their guests would travel to the location a day or two ahead of time and spend the days leading up to the wedding enjoying uninterrupted time with friends and family.

The day of the wedding could be marked by special meals and events and culminate in the ceremony and reception.

Even the days after a destination wedding can be extra-special as a resort or hotel organizes a farewell breakfast or brunch and then arranges for special shuttle service to a nearby airport from which all of the guests can head home.

Pregnancy and Newborn Photos – Memories in the Making

Friday, March 27th, 2009
We’ve talked quite a bit about wedding day photography. However, today we want to talk about another milestone. The photography milestone will be discussing today is childbirth.

Once you’ve decided that you’re ready to become a parent, the process of conception and pregnancy can be overwhelming to say the least. However, this life milestone is also very beautiful and something that should be remembered for a lifetime. As such, we recommend that during the latter part of your pregnancy you should schedule an appointment with a high-quality photographer in order to capture the beauty of this time in your life.

Photographers can be very creative with pregnancy photographs, shooting you and your spouse from a variety of angles to put an artistic spin on a pregnant belly. For example, one of our favorite shots incorporates both the husband and wife. The father-to-be stands behind the mother-to-be with his hands on her bare belly. Shot in black and white or color, these photos always turn out beautifully.

Once you’ve had pregnancy photographs taken, many women elect to hire that same photographer to shoot photographs of their newborn baby after they’ve come into the world. The birth of a baby is a miracle and one of the most memorable times in life; why not immortalize that time with high quality photographs?

Photographers find it enjoyable to shoot newborn babies because they sleep so much and can be incorporated into a variety of creative and adorable photographs.

If you’ve never seen photographs of a newborn baby on a bear skin rug, in the palm of his or her father’s hands, or better yet, resting peacefully in a basket or flower pot, you have not yet experienced all the photography has to offer.

High-quality photographers will be able to provide you with a wide variety of both pregnancy and newborn photograph options. Your photographer should be able to put together a portfolio of photographs to represent this special time in your life.

If your new baby has siblings, it’s also advised that you incorporate your other children into the photographs as well. You’ll be so pleased with the outcome of your pregnancy and newborn photographs that they’re sure to become a conversation piece for years to come.

East Winds Inn – Ben and Jo’s Caribbean Wedding Surprise

Friday, March 6th, 2009

For Ben and Jo of London, flying to the Caribbean for their wedding was the ultimate private get-away. But the couple, who value their privacy above all else, were surprised to find their resort of choice offered the seclusion they so desired while still presenting a lavish wedding.

The venue – East Wind’s Inn in La Brelotte Bay; a cosy resort with only thirty rooms, located on one of the more pristine bays on the island of Saint Lucia; The setting – exquisite; with 12 acres of lush tropical gardens bordered by the golden beach. This traditional resort boasts an exclusive experience to those who value simple luxury, exactly what Ben and Jo required.

The two, both 25, chose a destination wedding for that momentous walk down the aisle, because as Ben says, “We just wanted something a bit different.” And, Jo explains, “We wanted somewhere quite exclusive, quite secluded and we just decided you’ve got everything here.”

The couple got everything and much more for their wedding. “It’s more than we expected. This place is really good for that kind of thing…its top notch. It was perfect really. We didn’t have anything in mind so we just went along with it.”

To Ben and Jo’s pleasure, the special arrangements went beyond the ceremony. “In the evening when we had our meal there were really pretty flowers in the table and they made us a special dessert. It was really very nice. We were very, very pleased with it. It’s all been a nice surprise,” declares Jo.

The services of photographer Bill Mortley, and the quality of his work, also added to the couple’s satisfaction with their choice. Bill also comes highly recommended by Trip Advisor for his creative and superior work on weddings at various resorts, which creates lasting memories for his clients.

Ben and Jo’s memories will also include the very pleasant and friendly staff of East Winds, which was recommended by one of Ben’s friends. The all-inclusive resort also had the plus of being the winner of Trip Advisor’s 2008 Traveller’s Choice award, which Ben says, “Makes a lot of difference, with hundreds of reviews.”

The newlywed’s who say, “St Lucia looked so nice we didn’t have to look anywhere else,” also took the time to sail around the island on the Brig Unicorn and trek through its rainforest.
